{"id":4097,"date":"2022-06-30T12:26:59","date_gmt":"2022-06-30T10:26:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eylaw.at\/?p=4097"},"modified":"2022-11-30T09:36:01","modified_gmt":"2022-11-30T08:36:01","slug":"breaking-extending-aml-obligations-for-crypto-asset-service-providers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eylaw.at\/en\/breaking-extending-aml-obligations-for-crypto-asset-service-providers\/","title":{"rendered":"Breaking: Extending  AML obligations for crypto asset service providers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>&nbsp;Negotiators of European Parliament (EP) have reached a provisional agreement on extending the scope of the &#8220;travel rule&#8221; to transfers of crypto assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What&#8217;s new for crypto asset service providers (CASP)?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The travel rule shall ensure financial transparency on exchanges in crypto assets\u00a0<strong>by obliging crypto asset service providers to collect and make accessible certain information<\/strong>\u00a0about the originator and the beneficiary of the transfers of crypto assets they operate. This is what payment service providers currently do for wire transfers.
